Insurgents

The real problem we here in Texas would likely face would be organized leftist groups—some claiming federal authority or authorization—that would work to take advantage of the confusion and fear after a nuclear strike to seize local control of authority and resources. All because the assumption is the destruction of our federal seats of power and, perhaps, most members of the federal government.

As we have already observed and detected HERE the placement of new non-local individuals and groups who seem to live here without employment or ties to the area, it is probable that these leftist insurgent groups are already in place today. The east-coast nuclear strikes would be coordinated with immediate mobilization of these organized groups—both overt and covert—to control the populace, control and collect/confiscate resources, control citizen mobility, along with allied forces whose purpose would be to cause mayhem and violence, cause fear, stir up panic, destroy property, and help to shape the desire of residents for someone to take control.

It is this insurgent factor that poses the greatest likely disruption and danger to our peace, security, liberty, and lives. This eventuality also presents the greatest difficulty for preparation, as it would be malevolent in nature and interwoven into any, perhaps every, social interaction. All resistance would be demagogued as "subversive" and illegal.

The advent of leftist insurgents gaining power footholds in the local community means good folk would have to immediately adopt a low profile. One clear problem is that these groups will already likely have identified any threats to their efforts and targetted those individuals, families, or groups for anything from isolation to detention to elimination. That, too, would be coordinated with their very first moves.

Identifying Them

They are people new to the community. They typically have no ties to this area and are often unemployed, yet they have very nice automobiles and nice apartments or homes. When they come to a gun range, they have expensive guns and kit, yet they have no or very low skills. They seek to ingratiate themselves to others. When asked what they do for a living, they distract from the question and either will not answer it or are vague or say they are not working right now (this is because they are being supported by leftist orgs).

Threats They Present (in no particular order)

As individuals, these folk will be at the forefront of the inform-on-your-neighbor movement, which will start strong and pick up speed and new members. They'll report to "authorities" that you have (or might have) firearms or more food than others, or that you're are a subversive. They'll use these tactics to curry favor and rank with authorities and to sow fear and jealosy among the populace. Their efforts will convert more and more local residents to this behavior, for the same reasons.

As groups, much like the "Chad autonomous zone" in 2020, these groups will likely violently assume control of buildings and blocks and neighborhoods, establishing bases of operation for their "policing" and other authoritative efforts. They may also achieve roughly the same thing without physical violence, by claiming or projecting federal authorization/authority in order to adopt official bases of operation in and from city governments. Their mayhem teams will continually perpetrate violence and vandalism upon the people and property in their areas of operation.

Once established, members of these goups will seek to control the movement of citizens and mail, access to resources, even the allocation of living spaces. Moreover, they may work with local or state agencies to setup "refugee camps" and order some or all local citizens into these camps, along with violent incentives to comply.

And in all of these efforts, they become the eyes and ears for their superiors, domestic and foreign, relaying a flow of local intelligence to support other larger insurgent efforts.

Terrorism

It's possible that they'll do none or few of these overt things and instead concentrate on local terrorism, with bombings and shootings and arson. The point is, they can do any or all of these things...or something else, and they're already here in place. For something.

Preparation & Resistance

Knowing that these groups are already here, with more coming, is vital—and we do know—and this knowledge allows us to try and prepare and counter their destructive, manipulative, and likey violent efforts. Precisely how to do this is not very clear to me at this time. So what follows is best guesses.

Low Profile

It is likely best that we generally keep a low profile in our neighborhoods and the local community so as not to be pre-selected as targets for their direct attention. Among other things, this includes basic advisable behaviors, like not advertizing locally that we're gun owners, or that we are collecting prep stockpiles of food, water, and ammo, or that we have a network of mutual support. Escaping their direct scrutiny or interest frees us from immediate confrontations on their terms.

Ordinary living, too, can betray your preparation and food stores. In a dire situation where food and other resources are scarce, looking clean, well nourished, and well rested are suspicious. Keeping your home/property clean and in good trim is also suspicious. Be prepared to portray a haggard, dirty picture and don't let your property stand out as superior to others.

Denials

Since we know these groups are here already, we can work actively and passively to deny them resources. For instance, when they attempt to register for firearms instruction at our gun ranges, decline to teach them. We can decline to practice with them when they show up to practice themselves. We can alert other gun-range owners/managers of specific individuals or groups that come seeking instruction.

Civic Monitoring

It is possible that individuals and groups seeking to take advantage of disaster or wartime crisis will begin to expose their desires before anything bad happens. So keeping tabs on events in the community and in and around city government could help identify the people and the tactics or strategies they aim to employ. If possible, we should seek to identify any facilities or locations they aim to use as bases of operation or administration.

Resisting

One of the difficulties in resising these groups is that they may claim or actually be "working with" local police or other law-enforcement agencies, as a means to present or gain a measure of authority. Direct resistance could then be considered subversive or criminal. This, again, means that resistance is likely best when done anonymously and with a low profile. At some point, however, open defiance and even direct action will likely be required if we are to hold onto our liberties and property. Any direct action, however, will be increasingly ineffective if it is done piecemeal and is uncoordinated. For any measure of real success in defeating the local insurgents, direct action should be coordinated, thorough, and final.
